I have an 8800. Recently a dim red light appeared in the upper right corner of the device. It's not the bright blinking red light indicating a new email. It's not the amber light as the battery level is fine. I have attemtped a soft reboot and removing and replacing the battery. This dim red light doesn't even go off when I power down the device. I even shut off all LED alerting but still I have the dim red light.
I did check for notification icons and there are none. I've had third party apps on it for over a year. If all else fails I will wipe the device. It is strange that the dim red light stays on even when I power off the device.
