OK I got brave and decided to remove ring and clean track ball, all good....then came replacing. According to the instructions I had clips should be set at 3 6 9 o'clock position....it crushed the clips. I ordered another ring, now I ask is there a correct clip position on 8830 WE other then 3 6 9 o'clock??

Not too familiar with the WE, but 3, 6, 9 should be right. You just have to be careful on how you put it back in.

I have changed the trackball on my 8830 and 3 6 9 is the correct positioning. Make sure the trackball housing is sitting in snugly before trying to put the ring on
