I've had me 8830 for about a month and all of a sudden the Compose SMS option is missing. Everything else works great and I am able to receive SMS messages but I cannot reply, forward or compose them.

I've tried pulling the battery, wiping the device, reloading the device, re-registering, and calling Sprint support. Also had Sprint remove SMS from my account then re-add it. They were unable to assist. They believe it is a hardware issue but it still does sound like a hardware issue to me.

I've read that the problem maybe an option set on their employer's BES but I'm not connected to one.

U can send the service book from the bb/sprint website.

Thanks for all your help. Looks like it was a bad device. Not sure what happened, both RIMs had the same OS.
