Not to sure why but google maps just wont work for. it starts up and goes to the loading terms screen but than comes back with a error saying i need a data connection. I'm on T-mobile in the UK and I have full BIS and data tarriff so I'm not to sure why I get the data error? I had the same problem with BBmaps (only got green & black screen) but i changed the TCP to wap.voicestream.com and now it works thought it would work for google maps but no good. Any ideas whats gone wrong?

    cheers

I know that wap.voicestream.com works for T-Mobile US, but you may want to double-check that there is not a different APN for the UK.

    Cheers for the reply anyways.

    UPDATE:

how simple was that. Sorted works fine now.

    cheers

I just google'd for t-mobile apn settings. I had the wrong apn type in so it would'nt work with google maps. Hope this helps.

    Was it internet.com or wap.voicestream.com?

I've been bashing my head with GMaps for a couple of days now and still can't get it to work. I've set the APN to general.t-mobile.uk with no effect.

I've tried the Google Maps FAQ on the Network Unavailable issue but that hasn't resolved it either. Can anyone help out here, there must be something obvious I have overlooked.

I have a data plan with T-Mobile here in the UK on an 8800.

    Cheers

Just an FYI I managed to get GMaps working now, it took an reinstall of the latest version and a restart of my Blackberry but all is working now.

    Hi JP,

I'm thinking of getting an 8800 on tmobile uk. do you have to subscribe to the push email service as well as web'n'walk or can you just have the data, seem to be getting conflicting advice about this.

    thanks,
