I have BB 8830 WE - my boss gave me, it is Sprint version and is supposedly unlocked - I tried to get codes and they advised
"This particular model from Sprint, does not need an unlock code. This model from Sprint is already provided as unlocked. However the 'Radio' part is locked. This is not something we support unlocking for the BB 8830 from Sprint." - I am just trying to use this BB8830 WE on my verizon service - I do not want global calling etc just golld ole USA coverage - Is this possible?
If so, how?
The 8830 from Sprint cannot be used on VZW's network. They will not add it, since it is not branded to them. Neither will Sprint accept VZW branded devices.
Unlocking has nothing to do with CDMA. It is a GSM function. The 8830 only supports GSM carriers outside of North America.
