I have an unlocked 8820 from ATT that is giving me fits with WIFI as I am now using it in Africa without the option of data service.
Is there a way to delete the ATT specific OS and just use a generic RIM OS that will not have any restrictions, etc?
It has been suggested that the problem is that now that I have unmarried it from ATT that the wifi is tied to somehow to the previous service.
Thank you for any advice.

Super Bad
It probably wouldn't do any good to load a different carrier's OS. What seems to be the problem?
