I have a Verizon Blackberry 8830. I activated it just recently and the mobile network for calling is working but the blackberry internet service is not working. I did update the os to 4.5.0.33. The mobile network only comes up as 1x not 1X like it should. Verizon doesn't know how to fix it. Please advise.

It could be down in your area currently. It should say 1XEV, not just 1X.

Did they try resending the service books or re registering.

Go to options >advanced options >host routing table>hit menu >register now. Then while you're at it, remove your battery while the device is ON, wait a minute and replace battery...

My internet connection through the 8830 is just very very slow. Takes forever to load.

Today, I was on the phone with verizon for an hour and half trying to do everything in the book. We did the host routing table trick 10 times and didn't work. Tried sending the service book to the phone. All did not work.
