    I have the TMobile Blackberry 8820, I unlocked it myself (they emailed me instructions and an unlock code) my question is.. I am going overseas next month to Europe, Serbia.. I plan on buying a SIM Card in Serbia and using there service since it will work out to be much cheaper than with TMobile, will the SIM Card work since my phone is now unlocked? Thanks in advance.

    Will I be able to text also. The data isn't really important, just the texts/phone calls.

    Yes it will work with any sim now that your 8820 is unlocked but pre-paid services don't have data so no email, browser, BBM...
    When I go to europe I get the INT data plan from T-Mobile for $19.99 and email, pin and BBM instead of calling and it saves me money.

    i doubt a prepaid sim will have texts i mite be wrong though
