I have the oppertunity to get an 8830we but in its locked to cdma I see here tha tthey can in fact be unlocked to run on gsm in spite of what the carrier here says (telus im in canada) can anyone help me to get it un locked as canada is a much smaller market the carriers have no insentive to help does any one have the code to un lock my BB

GSM and CDMA are two totally different technologies and use different frequencies. Unlocking the phone will not allow you to use it on GSM.
