Has anyone installed this yet? Do we know if it has fixed some of the problems seen in .160 (i.e. the chirp during phone calls, the loss of sounds, the instability of ringtone profiles, etc.)?

I'll install it later tonight and see how it goes. I will report back on my findings.

It has NOT fixed the chirp sound.

I wonder if replacing the CDMA folder with another would help? I don't know if its related to the antenna/receiver or something else.

I am hoping that it takes care of the sound loss problem.

I did successfully install it - now just have to wait to see what does/does not happen.

Try the 5.0 hybrid. I like it a lot better. (not that it fixes the chirp, though)
Here is a the Java folder with the .169 update and Skunkd's 5.0 files. I will work on getting updated 5.0 files in there, if anyone wants to wait. (Might take a day or two)

I put the 5.0 hybrid on this morning before a business trip. It'll get a good workout, without the opportunity to change it till next week. So far, so good. Haven't lost sound yet, mem leak isn't too bad... One chirp on a call so far. All else seems to be going well.

I loaded this tonight, overall things seem smooth and fairly snappy. Also I booted with 17mb free (up from around 14mb on 4.5.0.135). After running some apps, memory dropped to 14 megs and held steady, but I have only been using this release for around 2 hours.

Now the bad news. The device media processor busy error is still present (and just as annoying). This means media files and alerts can stop playing without notice. Because of this, I will be downgrading back to 4.5.0.135, which I hate to do, as .169 seems much faster than .135, but I need reliable alerts and I like to listen to podcasts using my phone and doing several battery pulls a day is quite annoying. I have posted my findings in my findings thread.

Update: after downgrading back to 4.5.0.135 I booted with close to 17mb free, so I am not sure if my free memory claims are correct.

Another thing to note: during the upgrade, the calendar was properly restored. With .160 the calendar did not get restored properly.

On my upgrade, my calendar was the only thing not restored. However, once I performed my Enterprise Activation, all of my entries were populated by my server.

Interesting. Maybe that is because you are on BES and I am on BIS. Not sure though as I had problems with the calendar on .160.
