Because this keeps comming up and people keep asking, here are the UNLOCK INSTRUCTIONS. Do NOT post in the unlocking forum asking how to do it. This has been stated many times and now it has its own instructional thread...

1.) Call verizon GLOBAL support. Dial 611 and simply ask for global support.
2.) Tell the rep you want the unlock code for your 8830 so you can unlock it.
3.) Give them your IMEI
4.) They will give you your code and enter it in the phone by going to
Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card. Once your there just type in MEP2. You will not see what your typing...so just do it.
5.) A box will come up asking for the network code. Enter in the code VZW gave you. Make sure its 100% correct when you enter it because you only get 10 chances to do it right... otherwise you perminately lock your phone. If it does not work after two tries make sure VZW has your IMEI right and make sure you guys verify letter for letter, number for number that the code is what VZW told you.
6.) If the code is entered right it will say "Code Accepted"
7.) Enjoy your unlocked phone. By the way dont ask if it will work in the US on cingular or t-mo becuase NO IT WILL NOT!
