A customer of mine just purchased eight 8830s from Sprint so they could use a VPN to access their corp network.

However, when they attempt to use a VPN the phone will drop their connection totally and require that they again log on. (worked fine with the 8703)

Sprint has stated that they do not support any VPN use with the Phone as Modem feature which basically means that if it is not working then they are not going to fix it.

Could someone please help me out with some advice?

I've not had any problems using VPN and the 8830 with Verizon.

What is your OS and what VPN client are you using? I have successfully VPN'd using the Cisco VPN client (4.9.1) on a Mac and (4.8) on a PC. You might want to check to see if you have the latest client. On the Mac side, you had to have the latest 4.9.1 client for USB modems to work, before it wouldn't recognize the connection as a valid network connection.

    Hope that helps.
