An 8830 can be used on any CDMA carrier that will activate it. Verizon and Sprint typically won't activate the other's phone on their network, but some of the smaller regional carriers may. Contact your carrier to confirm before you buy. And note, the 8830 cannot be used on North American GSM carriers. Its GSM radio operates on European GSM frequencies only.
