Hey,
I recently got a blackberry Smartphone 8800 for my birthday and I am trying to set up an internet connection. I have a normal wireless connection that my laptop detects but my 8800 isn't picking it up. At the moment, There is a green light flashing at the top of the 8800 and I have GPRS at the top right corner of my screen.
Can somebody tell me what else I can do to try and get a wireless internet connection?
i don't believe that your 8800 has wifi. its an older model. some new models don't even have it yet. your not going to pickup any signal no matter how hard you try
ok so unfortunately the blackberry 8800 doesnt have wireless internet support meaning the same type of wireless internet from your laptop,
the only way you can get internet is through your cellphone carrier with a data plan which is a certain charge per month, you have to call them up to add that
Ok, Thanks for explaining this to me.
So there is no possible way to get a computer Wireless connection onto my blackberry?
That is correct.
Wifi is a hardware feature on the models that end in '20. In your case, the model ends in '00.
The hardware is not present for a Wifi connection, but you have a satisfactory GPRS connection. You should be fully enabled for Email, Messenger and your Internet Browser.
Is there a limit to your data plan? 5 Mb is plenty for normal use.
