my 8800 went for a swim in my buddies pool a couple of weeks ago.. at the time i was told to take the battery and sim out, which i did immediatly.. i let it air dry for 2 days and turned it back on... everything works fine, except its not recognising my server. I have an x beside my reception bar and no network coverage.. I know it cant be my sim, because im using a pearl as I wait on my 8800.. any advice before i take it in to get fixed??
It's probably too late to save your phone if two weeks has passed since this happened. If you would have asked for help when this occured, we could have given you the best advice for wet electronics, a bag of uncooked rice... But like I said, it's probably too late to save it.

I don't thing rice would have saved it. Swimming pools(properly maintained) have chlorine and other corrosives that will corrode the electronics even after the moisture is gone. So it may work fine right away, but I wouldn't risk trusting it completly.
