I just bought a 8830WE from a local auction. The Verizon store guy said it won't power up even with a new battery. HELP! How can I fond out if Blackberry will cover it? What the best solution here. I DO understand that auction items are not 100% bulletproof, just trying to find some good advice here! Thanks!

The primary thing is finding out when the BB was first activated. If it is over a year, that's gonna be a no-go.

If you cannot get it to power up in any way, even hooked up to a charger, odds are it got toasted or wet, and it would need a full replacement.

If it's not repairable, you can always sell it for parts, unless someone else has another idea.

Kind of hard to find out since it won't turn on. You can try to trace the esn or imei. Have you placed a newly chrgd batt in ??

you can call into the phones service provider and ask them to look up that esn or imei. Tell them what you need it for. That should work.
