I was researching that Sprint 8830 is already unlocked for internations sim cards, but not for US (AT&T, T-mobile, et .)

Here is another post that says, Sprint, does give unlock codes. >>>>>>>>>>>>http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8800-series-discussion/80048-unlock-8830-a-3.html<<<<<<<<<<<

I want like to know, has anyone unlocked their Sprint 8830, and used it on differnet network (example AT&T).

If,yes, please let me know how, I am a Sprint customer.

    thanks

It won't work, as AT&T operates on the 850/1900 band, and the 8830 has the 900/1800 band, neither of which work in the United States. It has been covered before on the forums here.

did u try visit the link I posted. they are saying that u get the "master key" which we call it "unlock code". I know for sure, Sprint do offer re-programming code for whenever, there is new sim card inserted into the phone.

    thanks

It doesn't matter what code Sprint will give you, the phone will not work on a GSM provider in the United States. It does not have the proper bands required to operate here. It runs on CDMA here, and on 900/1800 band overseas. It does not have the 850/1900 band that is REQUIRED here in the United States. Code or no code, it will not work.

ETA: Look at this link, under modes. Research In Motion BlackBerry 8830 Specs & Features (Phone Scoop) What does it say?

What part of this phone will not work on the American GSM network wasn't clear? The phone is physically NOT capable.

I'm a sprint customer & I have been running on the 4.5os for at least 3months now. I solved the memory leak issue by simply resetting the phone a couple of times a day, aside from that it's great.

Are you using it on CDMA or on GSM. I heard that if I reset the phone, with the programable code, provided by Sprint, then it will work

This poster refuses to read what we have written. Several people in this thread have confirmed that the phone WILL NOT work in the United States on the GSM bands here. What part of that do you not understand?
