I'm going to be in France next month, and I'd like to be able to tether to my laptop for a few business issues. I've read both the Verizon instructions for setting up VZAccess and the Blackberry instructions. The issue is that I'm unlocking the phone and using a local sim card while there. It does allow data transfers, but how do I set up the blackberry? Do I use VZAccess, even though I'm not using a Verizon sim card, or use the generic setup from Blackberry? If through Blackberry, how do I find the access string to use?
the BB will respond to the software while connected. you will see "modem mode enabled" on your screen and it should then start working. also on a side not you should turn off you WiFi card so as not to confuse your VZ access software.
