    Hey all!!
    quick question..
i had a moto q before i got the crackberry. there was an option in the "q" to terminate the running programs that you recently loaded basically speeding up the phone.
is there anyway we can do this on the bb? battery pull? reset?

ALT + right CAP + DEL is a soft reset.

Battery pull is the most common. That's a nice hard reset.

When you close a program, hit the Menu key and choose Close. Some apps stay resident if you just hit the Escape key.

ALT + LGLG brings up the Event Log. Hit Menu>Clear Log to clear out some more memory.

Hi there. I do it once a week at a minimum, and find that it keeps things reasonably clear and fast.

Mine was having serious bog downs as well. I got rid of Google maps and everything seems to be very fine now. SO if you happen to have that installed, I would suggest maybe getting rid of it.

But indeed, the battery pull is a good options.

Now that was useful! after clearing out the event log, i looked at my status and the free files was definitely bigger.

Question: Event log is a series of what exactly?

The event log is a series of system warnings, notifications of communication events and/problems. Occasionally my Jivetalk connection will fail, so I see entries for that in the log. Browser requests, etc...not sure what else. I just know you need to dump it every so often.

    So lets get this right.

Phone is on. Pull the battery out while the phone is still on.

Thats the right way to do a battery pull right..

    Just double triple checking..
