I tried the ShortcutBerry. It's worth it to download.

Lovely concept and extremely fast.

Example of how it is used:
(From anywhere) Pressing conv. key + A + B, launches the AddressBook app.
(I can assign a shortcuts to any apps on my BB, even the third party ones).

In addition, I can assign up to 3 applications to each of the BB's side keys (convenience keys).

The default ones are good. For example:
Double click the right conv. key and my BB is locked (after reporting back the
locking by a nice and short vibration so that I don't need to even look at the screen).
