I have a like new Blackberry 8830 on Verizon and would like to switch it

to Alltel service. What do I do? Who do I contact?

Dont think this is possible. Verizon phones are generally locked to Verizon but you would have to contact Alltel.

Probably will not work. While cdma phones aren't 'locked,' carriers will usually only activate phones within their esn range (phones that are branded for that carrier.)
