I have downloaded the new version .127 and deleted the vendor.xml file. What else do I have to do cause my 8830 still does not recognize it? Verizon is my service provider does that matter?
First, uninstall the old OS package, then install the new. If you have DM 4.7, turn off the Auto Update feature. This downloads a temp vendor.xml file online. Delete vendor.xml and run App Loader again. There are some threads here that explain this in detail.

Make sure you only have one OS installed in your common files directory. If DM sees that there is a different version installed on your computer than what is on your BB, it should initiate the upgrade/downgrade.
Currently have DM 4.7 loaded on my laptop and have OS 4.5.0.101 on my 8830. DM 4.7 let me install beta OS 4.5.0.101 but will not let me install the new official release OS 4.5.0.127 from Bell!
I downloaded OS 4.5.0.127 from blackberry.com, I then installed it, after install it I go and delete the vendor.xml through c/common files/research in motion/apploader/vendor.xml. I connect the 8830 it does its little thing and it says no software update required for your device at this time! So I disabled the automatic updates from DM 4.7 and tried it again! Still does the same thing!
