Does anyone know how to switch off the plug in headset port on the 8830? For some reason I cannot hear, nor be heard while talking unless I plug in a corded headset. I am not sure about bluetooth, but I assume it would work. It also will not let me switch on the speaker phone. Please help!! I hate the cord!!

Sorry I did not mention that. I did try a battery pull. A few of them in fact. No luck.

Maybe your speaker/mic is broken? To my knowledge, there is no on/off switch. I dropped my 8830WE last week, and the mic broke. The speakers did still work, but noone could hear me, unless I was in my car and using the cars built in bluetooth...got a new 8830 today from Insurion though hehe...shiny n bright !
