you can put applications on there but you need to purchase a program to do that. i forget what its called, sorry.

but you can also put on songs, pictures, videos, wallpapers, ringtones, etc.

You can put almost anything on it, even use it like a USB stick, but you cannot execute applications stored there and you cannot view or edit *.doc or *.xls files without third party applications.

The software that let's you use applications from the SD is called Aerize. You should be able to Google it and find it; it's probably in the Crackberry store.
