What is the maximum media card size for the 8830? I found an 8gb one was wondering if that would work in my phone. I am currently running a 2gb. Looking to get either a 4gb or 8gb.... Thanks in advance.

PS i looked on BB site and found nothing specific

The size of media card that you can use is dependent on your operating system version. 4.3 will take 8gb I think (hopefully someone will confirm that)

I have 8GB in my 8820 - works OK. BUT you have to format the card on a PC, formatting in the BB apparently gives 4GB only.

Do you get all 8gb? I know it states you do on the device, but how much are you using?

Well like the above posts it all depends on you os. This limits the amount of memory you can use.

If you have an 8GB card, it will not be accessible on you BB if you have more than 2GB of data. This is fixed in 4.3/4.5. With 4.2.2, I think the max card size supported is 6GB.
