I have an 8830. Mass Storage is enabled, auto, support ON. Although the device is sometimes recognized as a mass storage device (I get an f: folder pop up and can click to see the contents, add and delete files, etc.), more often than not, I cannot access the device as mass storage.

The previous thread is closed without any usable information.

    any ideas?

Do you have desktop manager installed?

Yes, the DM allows me to access the media card "the slow way." On the rare instances when I do have an f: folder pop up, access to the media card is as easy as using a flash drive. Could the DM be causing the problem?

DM shouldn't cause any problem. However, when you can see your bb on a drive F:, do you have anything else plugged in your computer, and when you don't see it do you have anything plugged in then.

I had the same problem. I just completely un-installed the Desktop Manager, went to the RIM site, and downloaded and installed the latest version of the Desktop Manager software -- 4.3.

4.3 seems to fix a lot of little bugs...

After installing the newest version and restarting my computer, everything is working perfectly.

Connect the berry to a pc.
Then using My Computer, find the new drive letter.
    Then format the mass card.
That solved my problem with Mass Storage.
