I just received a replacement 8830 from Verizon. I noticed that the keyboard backlight is not working.

I was hoping that I just needed to turn it on. I've hunted through options and every other menu I can think of and can't seem to find a setting to enable/disable the keyboard backlight.

Am I missing a setting somewhere, or did I just receive a dud 8830 from Verizon?

    Thanks!

Have you taken it into a dark room?

Yes - that's actually how I first noticed the problem.

Parkman says, "Hi Verizon, I am back for YET another replacement BB"

    Verizon Salesperson, "ah ok..."

I think that would be your best resolution.....

I take it a battery pull, and keyboard settings (changes) did not help?

Yep - you're correct. I couldn't find anything relevant under keyboard settings and the battery pull didn't make a difference.

I called Verizon, and their tech support asked me to try a hard reset. Since I'll have to go through enterprise activation again, I'm waiting until after the New Year's when the IT folks are working again.

If that doesn't fix it, the Verizon rep thinks it is indeed a bad unit.
