    Have i turned a setting off and does anyone know where to turn it back on?
    The "open" option no longer shows up as a choice when clicking on the attachment. Any thoughts?

    have you updated your OS. Make sure in DM that message attachment service is installed.

    Yep, I noticed the other day when upgrading someone that it had defaulted to not having attatchment service selected.

    You can verify whether you have the Blackberry Attachment Service installed by either hooking up to DM or from your BB go to Options>Advanced Options>Applications. It should be listed here ( for me its the third entry down)

    Also, ensure that you have enough memory alloted to open attatchments. That was a common problem with the work issued BBs at my job. A simple 512 MB will do
