My last blackberry at least was able to tell me where I was standing, lat/long wise. The 8830 can't seem to even do that. All I see is a map application which isn't anything to write home about. What/how is the GPS functionality used? Do you need to buy another application to get any use out of it?

or TeleNav - Always find your way! $10 per month but very nice application

or try mapquest navigator as good as the sprints 10$ version but free (includes the voice guided directions)
@ navigator.mapquest.com/mqota/ ( download the one for 8703e as it works fine on my 8830 )

What about TeleNav? That should help, too. Plus they have a trial...
