All of VZW's digital network in HI is EVDO Rev. A, so you should have no problem with your BB. I just got back from Oahu and Lanai last week. My 8830 (as well as my wife's) worked perfectly. There is something compelling about responding to email while poolside, Mai Tai in hand. Aloha!
