Do you know how to auto append a"1" before the phone number for long distance automatically on an 8830 ? My Treo 755 had this feature and I can't seem to find it on my newly aquired BB. I have multiple are codes where I live and it is very useful Thanks

Select the call log icon, hit the menu button to the left of the trackball, select 'options' on the menu, select 'smart dialing' - and scroll to the "Use '1' for National Dialing" and change the value to 'yes'.

You really don't need to. Cell phones autodial 1+ when all the numbers are put in with the area code in place. So, put in the area code for all your contacts and it'll dial it correctly.

No, it won't be long distance if you're dialing this way for your local numbers. I've done it like this for years and it works great... from any cell phone!
