8830 has no camera, and no MMS on VZW. If you are OK with that, then it should be fine for you. Memory is nowhere near the Curve, so you may want to consider that also.
The 8830 has a slot for a SIM card so it can be used on GSM networks worldwide. The VZW Curve is strictly CDMA (basically US only). Also, the 8830 is bigger and heavier, but generally feels more sturdy and less "plasticy" in my opinion.
In shourt, the Curve is a better consumer phone and the 8830 is a better global business phone, just as they intended...

Worldwide = not in the United States/Canada/Mexico, but pretty much everywhere else.
I may be in the market for another Blackberry in May/June. Anything new coming out?

8830 v 4.2.2.196
I've had the 8830WE and now have the 8330. Like the 8330 due to the increased memory. I've tried the Storm, wasn't really taking to the touchscreen. I've heard it's a "Grow on you" type thing. I just don't have the patience and I like being able to type on a full keyboard without clicking.
Rumor has it that the VZW network may be getting the 8900 Curve sometime in the middle of this year....
I have the 8830 ( company provided phone) and I bought my wife the 8330 curve and hands down, the curve is a MUCH better phone than the 8830. Wished the 8900 would be available in the VW network.
