    Hi there.

    Is there a program that i can view altitiude information with the built in GPS?

    I have google maps, live search and Blackberry maps. All use the GPS but i cant seem to see an option to view altitude.

    Or if you know of a software that will id be greatfull.

    I use GPSed often and it has altitude. You don't have to use it to upload your tracks but I use it often just to get a fix and altitude readings. It's quick and simple.

    Check out this thread. One of our fellow posters created a GPS application that provides you with altitude, among other things. It's pretty basic but it works real well. I've tested it driving and hiking the Sierra Nevada mountains and the altitude readings are pretty accurate.

    bbtracker also shows elevation and even shows an elevation gain/loss profile screen.
