Hi, I'm still using my antique BB8830, and I would like to block SMS messages coming from a certain address. I have found this thread, but in my menu, I don't see the item "Except messages from=Address book contacts". It's a Verizon BB, and I'm still using the 2007 version of the software, 'cause I like it and don't see any point in changing it to a later version. I'm using it in Europe with a GSM Sim-card, and my service provider sends like 20 messages a day, it's really annoying and I'd like to block them.
My Firewall is enabled.
Either I don't see where I can select the option to block everything except SMSs from the people in my phonebook, or something isn't quite right. Could someone give more details?
Since you say you are using 2007 software, it is likely you are using 4.2.2.196. I would imagine the posters in this thread from 2009 were using 4.5.x software. Assuming you don't find the security setting to block these messages, can you complain to the service provider to get them to stop?
