Well I recently replaced the housing on my 8830, the stock silver one had seen much better days.

Some notes:

The black shows a lot of fingerprints, and the texture feels a more slippy than the old case.

Two torx screwdrivers were included and both were the wrong size, luckily I had a mini-torx set lying around.

Installation was pretty easy, however the included spudger is pretty much useless now.

The housing came with a new trackball, and keyboard too.

Very nice.

I replaced the silver keypad (blue lights) with the black keypad about a year ago. So much easier to see in all lighting situations.
