I just got my new 8830 yesterday. I'm a long time crackberry addict and I have this wierd icon up in the message status window: 1 IM, in a little talk bubble like you'd see in a comic. Now I use BB messenger and have for a long time. That is usually a smiley face in the status window. That said when I get a new BB message it changes from a 1 to a 2. I've tried ending the BB messenger threads, but the icon stays.....

try a battery pull. It sounds like a bb messenger icon.

I'm having the same issue. I'm gonna try and pull the battery, and see if that resolves it.
