I have a chance to trade in my 8830 for a 8330. Should I do it??

As far as I could tell I get more memory and a camera. Anyone know if there is anything else, is the curve faster? Does it have a better screen.

I can tell u I don't like the keyboard. its going to take time to get use to it. I can't type as fast on a curve as I can on a 8830.

It also does not seem as sturdy.

Would you guys swap your device for a curve?

I went from my 8830 to an 8330, and where the keyboard did take a bit of getting used to, man was I happy to receive MMS again and be able to take pictures.

As for the overall build. i was VERY satisfied with the 8330, it held up very well.

I am not sure that the phone is necessarily faster, but if you will use the camera feature, then I would swap it, if not, it may not be worth attempting the new keyboard lay out over.

Ive used both the 8830 and a 8330 and both are solid devices. I couldnt notice a huge difference in speed between both devices ( both running 4.5 ). It might be my eyes but i feel the curve screen is a little better, plus it has a camera. Personally they are both tried and true berries and I think that if youre not planning on traveling the 8330 is a little more rich with features.

Haven't seen the the 8830 in full action, but I would own it if it had a camera! Seems somewhat lame, but I want a phone with a camera function!

Yeah, I think it might come down to keyboard feel. I like the camera, but I interact with the keyboard a lot more than I would with a camera. I'll need to play with both a bit more to see if I can get used to the curve keyboard.

    Thanks for the input.

Yeah the keyboard is different but I run on ~8MB throughout the day because of all my apps. I will hit the curve if I get a chance!

By me owning both devices. I dont miss the camera feature or MMS feature on the Curve. They Keyboard layout is more solid for typing. Just my 2 cents.

I have the 8320 (personal use) and the 8830 (work). It is easier to type on the 8320 because the keys are not as close toghether. Plus WIFI is nice with the 8320. Iguess it not a feature available on the 8330.

I've owned both the 8830 and the 8330. The only difference is the added memory and the camera. I absolutely love my 8830, and there's no way I'd ever go back to the 8330. The screens are the same size. They have the same processor and chipset. It's all about the form factor for me.

Bottom line: if you're happy with your 8830, keep it, unless there's some reason you need a camera.

You could also hold out for a few months, depending on who your carrier is. There is a new phone coming out to replace the 8830. Not sure if its the tour or onyx.

Unless I missed it, no one mentioned the 8830 is WE and can be used in Europe.

I'd take the 8330, mms is the way to go, people acted like they couldn't grasp the concept of sending pix via email

Good point if the OP travels.

Something else to consider: Its possible that neither the 8830 or the 8330 will be upgraded to O/S 5.0, so, for any future enhancements or capabilities rim makes available, you may be watching from the bleachers.

I like the keyboard on 8830 (and it ends there - it's a few years old), but I'm going to move to the 8330. I think there is more memory. I keep managing 8m then down to 0meg on 8830.

The 8330 should have more memory.

As with the 8830 it took me 2 weeks to get used to the keyboard. I think that transitioning to 8330 will take about hte same.

im just gonna guess the tour is a new blackberry coming out? i havent heard anything about it. Ive had my 8330 for about 2 weeks and i love it, coming from an lg dare, the qwerty keypad on the 8330 is way better than the qwerty on the touchscreen.

I have the 8830 and my wife has the 8330. She is very happy with her phone. The only big difference I see is the camera which I sometimes wish I had but other than that they are pretty comparable I think.

Yes, the Tour is a new BB rumored to be coming to verizon in mid July and to sprint in September. Reviews can be found on this site. It is an upgrade for the 8830 and will have world phone (GSM, EDGE, HSPDA in europe) capability, a camera, evdo rev A, and several other desirable features.
