    I upgraded to 4.2 and under my bluetooth settings it says "Dial up Networking." Does this mean I can use my phone as a modem? only as bluetooth or can I use a usb cable too..thanks!

    Not sure about that. I don't see why it wouldn't work for both. But, I'll let someone more experience in this area, answer...

    Well thanks for trying, Nav. I had heard that the 8700g did not do tethered modeming, but since I upgraded to a OS that wasn't T-Mos, I figured that maybe it would work. I would try, but I have no clue how to do it

    i wouldnt recament useing bluetooth if useing it as a modem but you can use your phone as a modem T-mobile is the best network for that as the 19.99 plan inculeds that got to T-Mobile Wireless Configurator and theres all the help you could need

    i have a 8707v ... i and use it regulary as a modem ... had to set up some settings but found the guide here
