I just recently bought my 8703e online used... and is running the v4.2.1.119 (platform 2.3.0.25) - and was told by Sprint if the phone is running fine - not to upgrade. Had it for 2 weeks and all is well. Should I keep it as is - or do the upgrade?

4.5 is well worth upgrading to, it has a lot of new features, like html email.. been running for months and no problems

the only problem i've had with 4.5 is that it runs a little laggy imo. if you are not going to be using themes that are 4.5 specific then i would hold off.

Sometimes OS upgrades fix things that you might not even notice, a laggy browser, memory leaks, battery longevity. I would recommend upgrading.

Here's 4.5 for the 8703e. Use the instructions in the CB thread for updating your OS.
