I accidently installed a theme that was supposed to go on my 8820 and now I get an endless reboot loop on my 8703.. in the past, I've taken the battery out and plugged in the USB and went to Detect and it's worked on some of my other devices.. but this one says that a device can't be found..

Is there a way to either wipe it by key combo? or reinstall the OS on it?

Ok, so I'm following the steps on the Nuked Blackberry blog post, and whe I plug it in, it says that no software for my device can be found, yet I've installed the newest 8703e update.. I think it may be because of 4.3? I will try 4.2 on another Pc..

Hmm.. I installed the "newest" 8703 OS at the top of this forum, the one listed as 4.2, yet I've tried plugging in a Verizon 8703e and a Sprint 8703e and neither want to tell me that the update is available.. is it because i'm on vista/4.3 desktop manager?

I'm going to try 4.2 and see how that goes.

Did you delete the "vendor.xml" file?

that file is located in the "Apploader" folder right? I dont have that folder for some reason, yet Apploader works fine and it's worked for other devices updates from different carriers on my 8800 devices..

the version i'm using is 4.3.0.15 labeled as Aug 15 2007

Sorry, i was referring to the Desktop Manager.. It's the very first version that was leaked months ago.. it's worked fine for the most part but it's before the 4.3 went official and was released..

good, and if you don't have the "apploader" folder as directed, then you have not installed everything as it should be.

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. Get either 4.2 SP2, or v.4.3, and can be downloaded from the link above.

    2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.

    3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

    4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
