I need to wipe the memory off my 8700g so that I can resell it -- but I don't want the device to relock to T-Mobile in the process. Anyone know how?
(And can anyone tell me how I confirm that it's unlocked?)
Thanks much!

are you just wanting to delete any trace of your data and basically set the phone back to "out of the box" status?
Yep, I want to delete all my data, but I want to keep the phone unlocked so I can re-sell it. I'm worried a reset to 'out-of-box' status would re-lock the phone to T-Mobile.
Any idea how I should do it?
Thanks!
Sam
I know you can run the Desktop Software, load the Application Loader, make no changes, click on next, then click Advanced. Here you will be given the option to delete all user data or all programs. I'd like to think that you'd want to choose the first option to delete just your stuff
Options / security / general / menu / wipe handheld!
Doing this or reloading the OS does NOT re-lock the device!!!
Hmm I don't have that option on 8703e running 4.1.377. Is it on the g maybe?

EVERY BlackBerry has 'wipe handheld'. Go to your security section, then menu / wipe handheld...

Not that I need to wipe my device or anything...but really curious though

DOes anyone know how to do it manualy w/o involving verizon. PLEASE HELP... i love the phone and would like to be able to use the 2nd one. (it might be that the guy i bought them off of didnt pay his bill)
when you go to ->options->security->general are you then pressing the menu button? aka the blackberry button
There is no menu key persay on the 8700. It is the trackwheel. You should go to options/security options/general options then hit the trackwheel again and select wipe handheld.
Ohh ok, didn't know the op was using an 8700 (not that I would have known anyway lol) but thanks for clearing that up for me
