From what I can tell animated gifs don't work.... well at least on my 8700g.. I emailed one animated gif to myself of a cockroach... It wouldn't move at all. And it got converted to a jpg as well.
Animated gifs do not work BUT with 4.5 OS there is a way to have that gif exported to an svg file and put into a custom theme via plazmic themebuilder 4.6.

I need to know how to do this, please! I want to use an animated GIF as the lock screen in a custom theme I am making. I know how to export as an .svg but I am very new to Composer and I am not sure how to actually do the above.
why is a gif backgroud needed?
