So sorry to trouble you all with such a silly inquiry, but can anyone tell me what the small circular icon with a "1" next to it is on my 83XX series model. It sort of looks like a full moon and appears on the right side, just under the "P" or "A" after the time.

Did you download a ringtone or wallpaper? Go to messages / menu / view folders / WAP Messages...

    Anything in there?

Is it a yellow circle? A planet Earth? Check BlackBerry Messenger, it may be a pending PIN request

It is not yellow -- its a mostly blue circle, with a touch of white. I'll see if I can take a shot of it later today.

It's not the standard bluetooth icon. That is blue with a combination of two letters in the middle: reverse "K" and a triangular "B". I am showing the same "light" blue circle. it is below the service provider. No, I don't know what it is but would like to keep this thread open.

Did you try removing the battery and seeing if the icon goes away?

Go into a message window and press Menu>View Folders. Check each one, it is probably a browser message.

Go to your messages and look for a "saved web request" It's actually a Globe with a 1 next to it. If you are in an area that doesn't have Data service when you try to access a web page, it will ask you if you'd like to save the request.

Let me know if this solves it.
