    Hey everyone,

I'm debating still on what BlackBerry to get. I'm going with Telus and was toying between the 8830 since it has GPS or wait for the Curve which may or may not. My boyfriend has the 8700r with Rogers and he loves it. I know it's not the newest but it's $0 and has a great keyboard.

I'm just curious as there is the blackberry maps program and google maps. Can I purchase a bluetooth GPS receiver and use that for the GPS? I have unlimited data. They are fairly inexpensive on eBay. So just thinking if that's possible I might as well and save $300!

Or does this have built in GPS? The 8703e from Telus it says you can use GPS with Telus Navigator which is their montly paid service. Not sure if that uses a diff way to get the GPS signal or if the phone has it built in...

hello, I have at&t and I had asked someone yesterday from a store about the 8700 using GPS. She had said that you can use gps but you have to download the software for it to be able to. With at&t it is an extra 9.99 a month for it.

    I hope this helps alittle.

Whose GPS unit did you get from eBay?

Okay great that's what I thought. That was my deciding factor, the GPS units seem to be at least $50 with shipping and that keychain one everyone seems to have is close to $100 so was thinking for $100 more I could get the 8830 but I still don't think the 8830 has enough added features to make it worth paying $200 for it vs the 8703e for free.
