My cousin just got a BlackBerry 8700 but has no service books or any applications. I know that service books are sent by your carrier when you have a data plan, but the thing is she doesn't want sign up for a data plan so her 8700 is basically just a phone. I was just wondering if there was a way to get service books. She just wants the applications (minus the browser and other internet apps; no data plan) like media player etc. Also, I'm assuming that you would need to reload an OS to get full Bluetooth services? Her current BlackBerry state, she has no services, so her Bluetooth is basically useless at this point. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I believe over the air is the only way to download the service books.

That it is. Without a data plan, you have a nice phone that can do SMS.

This has been covered over and over in the forums. Please search.
