87xx Custom Paint
I've seen a few threads for custom paint/ covers for the 83xx berries so I figured I would post some pics of my 8703e that I spray painted.
This involved a black mask coat, 3-4 coats of colour and about 2-3 of clearcoat.
The paint I used was automotive grade, and colourshifts from Purple to Gold. (you have no idea how much of a pain it is to get a colourshifting paint to be viewable in pictures all thru its colour gamut)
Sorry the Berry is so scuffed up, but I'm in the process of stripping it off again and redoing it, as I got a few fingerprints in the clearcoat
The last pic attached is a Torx tool that I picked up at Canadian Tire(where I got the paint) for about $5.
So now I leave it to everyone else... What have you done with yours?

Looks really nice! :D I like the color fade... and I can see why it is hard to photograph

thanks guys... like I said, once I've stripped it and done it again, Ill try and put some better pictures up :D
BTW, this should be obvious, but I seem to have overlooked it when I did mine: DONT paint the inside bevel of the back plate (where the battery door touches), it causes a fit issue because of the tight tolerances, and pity help you if you put the battery door on while the paint is still wet...
Took me a week to get it off again.
Cheers

I also have an 8703e.
I would not change the colour of my bb to another - although it looks good, it still looks weird to me probably because the 8703e has not been available in other colours (other than basic black) unlike the pearl which also comes in pink (my daughter's favourite colour).

Doing it yourself is always cheaper. But, if you wanna treat yourself or just have some extra cash... ColorWarePC.com is a very good option! And no. I don't work for them!
