The cheapest way to get the 8703e through Verizon right now is two year contract. Would it be good for two years? Would it last? I can get insurance but if Verizon ever updated it the insurance would do me no good.

Have had a 8830 from Verizon for a year and a half and love it. Os upgrades and customizing helps keep it new.

87XX is a great series. I had an 8700c from my work and I loved it. Very solid built like a tank actually and for sure it will last 2 years. You can find them used on ebay for around 50 bucks and then would not have to do a contract. So unless vzw is giving it to you I might consider going the used bb route. Make sure to get the esn from the seller and check it with verizon before you buy.

    Thanks guys!

They're only $80 right now, so I guess I could go the E-bay route, which I've been scouring, but for an extra $30 it'd be a secure purchase.

I'm between this one and the Curve. I love the sleeker design of the Curve but the e-mail capabilities and built well make me like the 8703 too.

I bought an 8703e from ebay for 55 bucks with free shipping. It's a factory refurb but for 55 bucks and free shipping im not complaining.

I bought my 8703e on Ebay as well for $60 (including accessory bundle), and I'm very happy with it. I guess my only complaint would be that it doesn't handle background noise very well. People complain that they can't hear me real well sometimes. But everything else about it is great, and I can't imagine going anywhere without it!

Also, I am a FedEx guy, and I've dropped it on the job at least 4-5 times and never had any problems with it.

$25 on Craigslist, housing is a bit scuffed up but that can be replaced for $30 on eBay. But don't waste a contract on the 8703e, it's a solid device but you can get it from other sources cheaper without a contract.
