    My 8703e has shut down on me before, but tonight it shut down and is having trouble re-starting. The red indicator light comes on, then the screen lights with the hourglass as if it's starting up, then the red light comes back on, the screen goes black, and it tries all over again! I've done a hard reset a couple of times, but it's stuck in this loop, it seems, where it can't turn itself on. I was in the middle of a download when it happened. Do you think it's the battery? I've only had the smartphone for about 9 months.

    Any help, thoughts, suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. jmp

    Thanks, sunkast! I think this will do the trick! My only concern is that I'm not on my work computer where I have Lotus Notes. Do you think that'll be a problem? Will I have to be reconnected to the Blackberry Enterprise Server?

    Yes. If you are a BES user, I would recommend talking to your admin before doing this.

    Yeah...that's what I thought you would say. Plus, my pc isn't recognizing the connection at all. Do you think if I took it to the Verizon store, they could help? Wow...can't imagine the WHOLE weekend without my BB!!! Thanks again for your help.

    They might, but they might just tell you to consult your BES admin.

    Hey sunkast...Verizon is offering to replace my 8703e! I want to take it to work this week, though, and use the article you sent to me to try and resolve it with my IT folks. Thanks again for all your help! See ya around the site!
