I have a 8703e on Verizon and wanted to know what kind a speed I could expect if I signed up for the modem service?? My friend has a palm trio and gets a little less them my DSL. But he is on the EV network not the 1xEV that I am on.

This wont tell you speeds, but it gives you some answeres to other questions. Also using a verizon BB as a modem doesn't always work.

Here is an article about the verizon 8830 as a modem.

I used my 8703e as a modem for a while, when I had no internet access when my office was being remodeled. I really liked it.

The best comparison I can give you is: if DSL runs at Mach 3, then a BB used as a modem runs at Mach 2.5

This is less than ideal, but just think, you'll never have to search for a wi-fi spot!
