True enough on the trackball - I was slowly adjusting but missed my beloved clickwheel. I am definitely a fan of the full keyboard and do find some space between the keys is helpful like on the 8700 vs. the 8800. I'm sure I will give in and part ways with my favorite device--the 8700--when I new one comes out with enough bells and whistles that I just can't stand it anymore---like a Pearl size device with a full keyboard and wifi - I know, I know...unlikely -- but I'm sure they will come close -

It seems RIM is moving away from the clickwheel and bringing in the trackball - so to keep current, one really doesn't have a choice but to adjust Nervy but that's the way of technology...change, change, change...but what fun in so many ways

Cracks me up, Navilyn...it is true however, without my clickwheel - it still is the "dark side" for me. The story continues and we know...it's just a matter of time

Very true about the sure type though. That is really the main reason I ditched the pearl I couldn't stand sure type. I NEED my QWERTY! This another reason I think the 83xx is going to be such a great divice. Full qwerty, wifi and BG says the size is in between the 8800 and the Pearl. I only hope I don't have to wait a year after its release befor sprint gets it.

The comparison pics of the 8300 and the 8800 lead me to believe that the 8300 will be more like the 8700, but probably a little bit thinner.

I see AT&T will have the 8300 - that's also Cingular now. Does anyone know if Cingular will have this device? I love the space between the keys...

Only a few people have the beta, and most are under NDA and can't release it. From what I heard, the beta was very buggy anyway.

I read over at the boygeniousreport that the 4.2 version is ready, and it's now up to the carriers as to whether they want to offer it or not.

"If your one of our readers that constantly refreshes BGR, waiting to the see the latest tips and scoops we can offer, you won't be disappointed with the below BlackBerry intel. A BGR insider has just told us some details that will clear up a lot of the surrounding rumors regarding the 4.2 OS for the BlackBerr 8700, and 7310, while also giving us a peek into RIM's BES plans.

    * BES Service Pack 4 will be released in June
    * The 4.2 OS for the BlackBerry 8700, and 7130 is completely ready on RIM's end. It is now up the carriers to decide whether to release it or not
    * The "Wireless Upgrade" feature we showed you in our BlackBerry 8300 will at first be hosted directly from RIM, and will be completely available OTA with a possible release in June (it could infact be a little later though)
    * BlackBerry OS 5.0 is in the works with a talked about release during the "end of this year, or early next year" coinciding with RIM's planned release of the BlackBerry 9xxx series
    * BES Admins will have updates automatically show on their screen in "pop-up ballons, sort of like current Windows Update do". This way they won't have to keep checking for BES updates, and Service Packs.

That's it for now, and a special thank you goes out to our mobile insider of the week, a high-level exec at RIM who shall remain nameless. "

Compliments of the The Boy Genius Report
